Call to apply for American Film Market Participation

The Independent Producers Organisation (IPO) will again be arranging a South Africa pavilion to the AMERICAN FILM MARKET which takes place in Santa Monica, USA from the October 31 – November 7, 2018

The AMERICAN FILM MARKET is the world’s largest motion picture business event. Over 7,000 industry leaders converge in Santa Monica for eight days of deal-making, screenings, conferences, networking and parties. Participants come from more than 80 countries and include acquisition and development executives, agents, attorneys, directors, distributors, festival directors, financiers, film commissioners, producers, writers, the world’s press and all those who provide services to the motion picture industry.

IPO is in the process of applying for Sector Specific Assistance Scheme (SSAS) funding, on behalf of its members, which covers emerging exporter companies with less than R 25 million annual turnover and larger black owned companies who have been in operation for at least 12 months for up to:
100% of the costs of return flights;
100% of the costs of ground transport;
100% of the cost of accommodation;
100% of the costs related to the transport of the product to trade show and back;
100% of Show participation Costs;

Please note that the completed SSAS application form, together with supporting documentation, must be submitted by no later than Friday 29th June 2018.

Only members in good standing qualify for this opportunity and anyone who is not a member may enroll with prior to submitting their application. Catalyze will verify if an applying producer is in good standing, and only producers who are accredited may host meetings and display their marketing material in the pavilion.
