WGSA Outreach Programme: Online Course

The Writers Guild of South Africa (WGSA) in collaboration with the Department of Sports, Arts and Culture (DSAC) has developed a Basic Screenwriting Course for emerging screenwriters, translated into all South African official languages. With the National Arts Council (NAC) assistance, the WGSA will pilot training sessions across South Africa between February and May 2021 in various South African languages! Emerging screenwriters are encouraged to apply for our WGSA Online Course.
 
The Online Sessions will cover:
  • Screenwriting is a Job.
  • Script.
  • Story.
  • Structure.
The course is FREE to WGSA members. A nominal fee of R100 is required for Non-Member to attend.
 
The WGSA Online Course is best suited for emerging writers who need a refresher course in basic screenwriting skills:
  • Think knowledge share classes – but online.
  • The course will stretch over two days: 7 sessions of 2 hours per session.
  • We highly recommend that you attend all sessions in the course!

Registration closes 48 hours before the scheduled time and the zoom link will be send to participants 24 hours before the course.
 
 

All online courses are scheduled for the following timeslots:

DAY 1 – 9:00-11:00, 12:00-14:00, 15:00-17:00

DAY 2 – 9:00-11:00, 12:00-14:00, 15:00-17:00, 18:00-20:00
